Destination: Shivaganga a.k.a. Shivagange
Direction: North-west of Bangalore, on Tumkur Road (NH4/AH47), turn left at Gundenahalli.
Type of place: Rocky hill, Hindu temple.

Suitable for: A day trip.
Best seasons to visit: Summer may be very hot, and heavy rainy season may not be suitable.

* 47.9 KM from City Railway Station via Tumkur Road (NH4/AH47) and Gundenahalli.
* 60.2 KM from Central Silk Board via Sankey Road, Tumkur Road (NH4/AH47) and Gundenahalli.
* 7 KM from Gundenahalli to Shivaganga hill.

Food
* Just after Himalaya Drug Company on the left on Nelamangala Expressway, is Agarwal Bhawan.
* Better to carry food along, stop under one of the roadside tree shade and eat.
* There are no good food joints at the location of the hills except for some local small restaurants.
Specialties
* The drive from Bangalore is nice on the highway up to Gundenahalli.
* The last 7 KM after you turn left at Gundenahalli is a single track road.
* Shivaganga is a small village / town. A trip on a normal day can be a peaceful visit.
* There are multiple temples to visit as you climb up the hills.
* Climb to the very top of the hills is tough; you can decide at what point you want to turn back.
* There is a big stepped water tank / pond at the foot hills, opposite to the hills.
Travel Tips
* If you are there on a day there are not many visitors around, just make sure you are safe.
* As you climb higher, steps are very small and without proper side railings to hold; watch-out.
* Many people climb up to the very top of the hills; it is tough; could be adventurous beyond a point.
* Mid-day could be hot, so carry your caps; it could be windy, so be careful with umbrellas.
* There are monkeys on the hills, so take care when you eat your snacks..
* Do not forget to carry your stock of juices and drinking water, you will need lots of it.
