Caught Special - 59

Participated in the Sony World Photography Awards contest conducted in London recently, second time in three years. It is a very popular and highly competitive contest where several thousands participate from around the world. This year's contest had over 230,000 photographs entered into the competition.



The contest this year had the following nine different categories against which one photo each was to be submitted.
          1. Architecture
          2. Arts and Culture
          3. Enhanced
          4. Low Light
          5. Nature & Wildlife
          6. People
          7. Smile
          8. Split Second
          9. Travel

Though my pictures did not get shortlisted in the contest further, I had selected the top-3 picks from my collection for all the categories that you can see here.

Caught Special - 46

Recently, I participated in the International Photography Award contest conducted in Dubai, second year in a row. It is a very popular and highly competitive contest where several thousands participate from around the world.

The contest had the following four different categories against which one photo each was to be submitted.

             1) Life in Colour

             2) General / Entrant's Choice

             3) Faces (Black and White only)

             4) Night Photography

I had submitted my photo entries for each one of them. Though my pictures did not get shortlisted in the contest further, since I had selected the top-10 picks from my collection for all the four categories, I am glad to share all of those photos here.

And you can take a close look at each of the 40 photos by clicking on them for full-size view.

I participated in the World Photography Awards contest conducted by Sony in London recently. It is a very popular and highly competitive contest where several thousands participate from around the world. This year's contest had over 139,000 photographs entered into the competition.

The contest had the following different categories, while I was eligible to submit 1 photo each against only (any) 3 of these categories.

         1. Architecture

         2. Arts and Culture

         3. Digitally Enhanced

         4. Low Light 

         5. Nature & Wildlife 

         6. People

         7. Smile

         8. Split Second

         9. Travel

I had submitted one best pick from my collection of photos for the three categories: Architecture, Nature & Wildlife, Smile. 

Though my pictures did not get shortlisted in the contest further, since I had selected the top-3 picks from my collection for all the nine categories, I am glad to share all of those twenty-seven photos here.

Caught Special - 38

I participated in an International Photography Award contest conducted in Dubai recently. It is a very popular and highly competitive contest where several thousands participate from around the world.

The contest had the following four different categories against which 1 photo each was to be submitted.
             1) Creating the Future
             2) General
             3) Black and White
             4) Street Life

I had submitted my photo entries for each one of them. I was happy with the results. My photos cleared the 1st round of judgement successfully and they went on to the 2nd round of judgement as well. Sadly my photos could not reach the 3rd round, but for the simple small camera that I used, the progress my photos made in the contest was still (!) good.

For a Photography contest recently, in the name Summer Coolers, I shortlisted the best picks from my collection of pictures. I thought of sharing those with you here. Though you may have seen some of them in an earlier post somewhere in my blog before, many of them are new here, and I think they form a good set under the category Summer Coolers.

You can see that the file names of the pictures have details about the Camera used, the Location of shot, and the Date when it was taken. To see the file name you can use one of two ways: (1) while in the blog page view, move the mouse pointer on the image, and the file name can be seen on the status bar at the bottom; (2) again, while in the blog page view, right click on the image and click on Save Image As, and you can see the file name in the Save window.
