Caught Special - 59

Participated in the Sony World Photography Awards contest conducted in London recently, second time in three years. It is a very popular and highly competitive contest where several thousands participate from around the world. This year's contest had over 230,000 photographs entered into the competition.



The contest this year had the following nine different categories against which one photo each was to be submitted.
          1. Architecture
          2. Arts and Culture
          3. Enhanced
          4. Low Light
          5. Nature & Wildlife
          6. People
          7. Smile
          8. Split Second
          9. Travel

Though my pictures did not get shortlisted in the contest further, I had selected the top-3 picks from my collection for all the categories that you can see here.

Caught Special - 41

As I took a few steps down by our building's staircase on a Sunday forenoon, I had a nice view of our main balcony from outside, through the window of the stairway. The amber colored Bougainvillea flowers scattered around were impressive, and a few long peep-outs of curling cute creeper tips gave a beautiful frame for me to click this as a special one.

Caught Special - 40

After a walk on a Sunday late evening, as we sat on the sidewalk bench, the glistening full moon in front of us looked awesome. The overall combination with the bamboo shoots and leaves forming a wonderful silhouette at the top and a full black central area and then a few lights of our apartment at the bottom, made this picture special.

Caught Special - 39

I participated in the World Photography Awards contest conducted by Sony in London recently. It is a very popular and highly competitive contest where several thousands participate from around the world. This year's contest had over 139,000 photographs entered into the competition.

The contest had the following different categories, while I was eligible to submit 1 photo each against only (any) 3 of these categories.

         1. Architecture

         2. Arts and Culture

         3. Digitally Enhanced

         4. Low Light 

         5. Nature & Wildlife 

         6. People

         7. Smile

         8. Split Second

         9. Travel

I had submitted one best pick from my collection of photos for the three categories: Architecture, Nature & Wildlife, Smile. 

Though my pictures did not get shortlisted in the contest further, since I had selected the top-3 picks from my collection for all the nine categories, I am glad to share all of those twenty-seven photos here.
