Destination: Omkar Hills - Also known as Omkara Betta
Direction: South-west of Bangalore, go along Mysore Road, turn left after Rajarajeshwari Nagar RTO.
Type of place: Hillock, Temple, Giant Clock, Ashram.
We visited last on: 04/Jun/06, Sun.
Suitable for: Evening out, Religious time out.
Best seasons to visit:
* Any time.
Distances
* 14.5 KM from City Railway Station.
* 19.2 KM from Central Silk Board, Hosur Road.

Timings: Open only during daylight timings.
Weekly off: There may be a weekly-off now. Please check.
Food
* Carrying food is not mandatory, since you might be spending only a couple of hours here.
* Within a couple of KM, around Rajarajeshwari Nagar you should be able to find small restaurants.
* There was a small shop selling chips, biscuits, tetra-packed juice, etc.
Specialties
* It is a calm place away from traffic, after passing through some small roads and farms.
* The mini hillock has a Giant Clock tower that chimes OM after every hourly bell.
* The hillock has a few statues like elephants and some temple idols as well.
* The view from this hillock is something to look forward to.
* There was a small parking area, sufficient enough, near the Ashram building.
Travel Tips
* We did carry water, juice, some snacks and food from home to eat there.
* A few steps to climb up the hillock; elderly people and kids shall be prepared.
