Caught Special - 144

WISH YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR 2023

Where: At Home in Bangalore
When: 17th Apr 2022, 8 am to 11 am
How: Canon 700D

What: Green Barbet drilling the nest hole on this African Tulip tree.. stopping in between and looking around.. and its pair waiting on the nearby branch to take next turn of continuing the work!

UPDATE AUGUST 2024

Late July 2024, the vacant land plot in which this African Tulip Tree was located in, got cleaned up and a building construction started. Initially this Tree was safe as it was on a corner. However, after a few days.. in the early part of August, the swinging and swiveling trunk-like arm movements of the Earth Mover JCB's operations they were doing around there.. for digging and moving soil around this Tree.. on one bad occasion.. accidentally hit this Tree.. and had clawed and plucked out broken down.. a huge branch of this Tree. And without stopping at just pruning that broken part alone.. the people there, first chopped just one part of the twin-like main trunk of this Tree. So we were feeling just about okay seeing the rest of the Tree being there. However.. sadly, the very next day removed the entire Tree from there!

So sad to see the Tree gone!

This was on the morning of 6Aug24.. One part of the Tree was gone.. and its sad stub of the trunk standing!

This was on the evening of 6th August 2024.. the entire Tree was gone!!
